About Our Founder
Freedom Fighters is led by Chad Marks. Chad has 17 years of experience as a prisoner inside the federal prison system. During that time, he primarily worked in the law library assisting fellow inmates and wrote articles for publications such as Prison Legal News, and Criminal Legal News.
Chad Marks is a paralegal, published author, criminal justice activist, and educator. Chad is known as one of the Best Jailhouse Lawyers. He wrote his motion to reduce his sentence from 40 years to 20 to gain his freedom in June 2020.
While a prisoner Chad Marks wrote the first compassionate release motion to be granted after the First Step Act was passed in 2022. United States v. Conrado Cantu 423 F. Supp. 3d 345 (S.D. Tex. 2019).
As a “jailhouse lawyer,” Chad has helped other prisoners with criminal appeals, civil litigation, and a wide variety of administrative law matters. In time, he gained significant experience with prison disciplinary, health services, educational, and prison transfer matters, among many other areas.
Now he runs Freedom Fighters to help those still behind bars with draconian sentences. Our team has a wealth of experience and a proven track record of success in this area.
